Surprise! I Am Pregnant
I am one of those people who dream actively. I remember many dreams and on Monday, I had a dream that struck me as being more special than the rest. I dreamt that I was pregnant and was busy doing my things. Suddenly I went into early labour and laboured for the baby. The dream wasn’t about the labour itself but what happened after the labour. The father (NameWithheld) was not present in the labour room and was not there to comfort me. This in itself is strange, don't you think? I had the child all on my own, without support and when the baby was delivered, the doctor asked me for her name. Yes, I dreamt I had a baby girl. I didn’t know what name to give the child because I had not discussed it with the baby’s father. But the doctor wanted a name and so I said, “Megan NameWithheld”. Now the name “Megan” is quite special in the sense that I have never thought about the name in my life. You know how girls are – we have chosen our wedding dresses and baby names since we were 5 years old. So I have a list of names that I liked to name my babies but “Megan” was never one of them. I then recalled that there was a timeframe for naming the baby, so I told the doctor to postpone the baby name until later. He told me that I had a week to decide on the name and so I arranged for my baby to be cared by someone while I flew to NameWithheld’s country to ask him what he wanted to name the baby. The dream ended when I left the baby under someone’s care (I can’t remember who) and informed the doctor that I would fly away to ask for the baby’s name from the father. What do you think the dream meant? Do you think that dreams have any meaning at all or are they just dreams? I have been thinking about this dream and I have concluded that it is sad that I dreamt a birth that way... Labels: life |
your dream is not sad, it jus come to show that you are ready to move on, but some part of you refuse to yet, and still hanging on to the old memories you strongly believe in ...hoping that it will come true one day...
i dont think dream have meanings.in my humble opinion, its just a visualisation of what currently on your thought while u are asleep.and its random.it can be your day experience(ie: if you saw a pregnant woman today.. there is a possibility you dream about pregnancy), you thought before going to sleep(ie:if you are thinking about someone before you are asleep.. maybe that someone can be in your dream) or even the environment around you while you are asleep(ie: if the condition is cold in your bedroom.. maybe u can dream about snow. plus dream can also pick any of your memory to manipulate it as a dream(ie: a dream about a long lost friend)my advise dont think about it too much.wake up and face the real world.cheers!
p/s:its just a perspective from my point of view.doesnt have to echo everyone.n it is not scientifically proven.haha
dreams of giving birth usually means that you are 'giving birth' to new responsibilities in your life. be it a new job, project, etc. :)
I've dreamt that i was pregnant before, the father being a guy that I wasn't even having a r/s with! o.O It wasn't really a subconscious thing manifesting itself in a dream though. When I woke up I was like "???".
Don't worry too much about it. On the other hand, you might be ready for the next step with NameWithHeld. *wink*
Take it that it's just a dream and work towards making sure that real life it does not happen.
Been there, done that, watching my 4 year old with pride each day.
The dream suggests some ideas, which loosely are:
1. That I am very independent - I can do my own things and manage my life etc etc, which is highlighted in the dream as giving birth on my own.
2. Births in dreams often signify the start of a new phase in life or a new project, and in my dream, I dreamt that I did it all on my own.
So perhaps my dream is telling me that I am lonely(?).
3. I was waiting to ask for the help/advice of my partner in my dream, which I interprete as me wanting to be reliant on another person for help and assistance. The fact that he wasn't around to help me, might in fact be my subconscious telling me that I have trust issues.
Wow, I can psycho bable, huh? =)
Found this in dream moods:
To see a baby in your dream, signifies innocence, warmth and new beginnings. Babies may symbolize something in your own inner nature which is pure, vulnerable, and/or uncorrupted. Babies may represent an aspect of yourself that is vulnerable and helpless.
If you dream that you are on your way to the hospital to have a baby, then it signifies your issues of dependency and your desire to be completely care for. Perhaps you are trying to get out of some responsibility.
To dream that you are pregnant, symbolizes an aspect of yourself or some aspect of your personal life that is growing and developing. You may not be ready to talk about it or act on it. This may also represent the birth of a new idea, direction, project or goal.
To dream of giving birth or see someone else giving birth, suggests that you are giving birth to a new idea or project. It also represents a new attitude, fresh beginnings or a major upcoming event.
Alternatively, the dream may be calling attention to your inner child and the potential for your to grow. A more direct interpretation of this dream, may represent your desires/ anxieties of giving birth or the anticipation for such an event to occur.
